The Scholars said good-bye to the first official expelled student Sheng. Although Sheng’s performance tonight according to resident judge Louie Ocampo was better than her number last week, the stand-up comedian only got 48.93% of the people’s votes.
As Sheng sung her final song, Jet told his fellow scholars that he wanted Sheng to stay instead of him. “She needs it more than me.”
The gala night started with the Scholars paying tribute to their best friends. Judges Gerard Salonga, Louie Ocampo and Rachelle Ann Go eagerly anticipated all of the numbers. Noticeably, almost everyone sang an English song except for Miguel, who sang an Anthony Castelo’s "Hahanapin Ko".
The mentors, who were watching everything from the faculty lounge, all agreed that the scholars were getting better each week. Apparently some scholars have taken the judges’ words to heart and applied them in their numbers. However, there are still a few who were very stubborn and got a thumbs-down from the judges.
Miguel was told he should have picked a better song for his voice range while Iñaki and Sen were told to control the adrenalin rush while performing. Control was also said to be Apple’s problem for she was restricted by her song and was told by the judges to shape up.
When it came to the announcement of the Top 3 scholars, Liezel was in disbelief when her name was called out once again. The cool voice of the Mindoro native wowed the judges once again and she received the Star Scholar title for the third time in a row. Liezel will now be able to grant her nephew’s wish of having a remote control car.
The scholars all gave a proud whoop for Christian, who was called next. Van received pats on the back from his classmates and a huge scream from his avid followers after filling in the third spot on the stage.
Will Jet be able to avoid this week’s bottom four? Whose stay will be on the line this time? Stay tuned for the results of the 3rd gala night tomorrow and the Little Dreamers showcase after Goin’ Bulilit!
